Nina, AKA the Hungriest Turtle, was born on May 28, 2008. This blog was created so we could share stories about Nina with all of our friends and family who don’t get to spend as much time with her as we do.
As Nini, Nina’s great-grandmother would have said, Nina is “a good eater”. Nina’s look of joy when she is about to eat bears a striking resemblance to the turtle in the header.
In this photo, Nina is hungry.
Unfortunately, it has been impossible to capture Nina’s exact hungry turtle face thus far on film without exposing a little bit too much of Mommy’s anatomy. Mommy (Julia) would like to assure you, however, that the photo at the top of the page is an excellent representation.
Daddy (Alex) was the one who found the turtle picture.

Another fascinating fact about Nina is that she looks just a teeny bit like a turnip because of the way her hair sticks up on top of her head. Her cowlick is also referred to as her “turnip sprout”.
